The first three groups at the ESWC world finals have officially come to an end, and six teams are already through to the next stage.
After some initial problems with the network, which prevented HLTV from being broadcast in the initial moments of the opening round of matches, the first day of the ESWC finals is now half way through, as the first groups have been played out.
Group C provided the biggest upset of the three, as Mowai Gaming, a last-minute addition to the tournament, leapfrogged both UNiTED and B4G to finish runners up to WeMade FOX in the group.
In Group D, it all ended as expected, as mTw finished at the top, followed by Alternate, but the Danish side had to sweat to overcome their opponents, as a 16-14 scoreline shows the difficulties they had in beating the German giants.
Group E was marked by an intense match between FireGamers and fnatic, with the latter coming out on top 16-14, and in the decisive encounter between FG and Oslo Lions, the Brazilians proved far too hot to handle as they cruised to a 20-10 victory.
